Extracurricular activities mean anything you do outsides your studies in classrooms. This could be your participation in singing contest or being a representative on student government. It could be your hobby related activities or sports activities too. However, how much time do you commit in an activity is much more important than doing twelve activities for few hours per each. Colleges are looking for depth rather than how many did you involve. Be a starter rather than a member or follower.

Many Myanmar students do volunteering jobs as extracurricular activities. They volunteer to tutor school children under the program of INGOs such as Save the Children (US). Many volunteering opportunities are available for students. You should participate actively in those programs because they can give you a lot of advantages too. You will become aware the value of community services and will make friend with other students like you.

Many contacts and addresses can be obtained at ICE youth library. You should start as soon as possible to commit your time and energy to make the community more beautiful.

Did you help in your family business?      Or          Did you do a part-time job?  Every jobs you did and currently doing support as your work experiences. It doesn’t mean how large your position. It just means how much time you commit in this job. Every job and work is fine. Hey every kyat you saved is better than the pocket money you got! Anyway, you parents will love this idea.

Join the volunteering programs and give your best!
